The Adult Day Center Of Somerset County Receives a Grant to Pilot Horticultural Therapy

Adult-Day-CenterThe ADC has received a grant from the Grotta Fund for Senior Care of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ to introduce horticultural therapy (HT). We will begin by providing regular bi-monthly workshops to our members, building relationships with community partners, educating the staff and volunteers about the benefits of HT and expanding and maintaining the ADC’s garden into a formal “therapy garden.” (more…)

Project Grow assists people with disabilities through farming

Allies Inc. Project Grow and Mercer County Community College have partnered to create a community-integrated program experience for participants with special needs. Program participants learn how to manage a fully operational farm starting with preparing the soil to harvesting and distributing the crops.
